Are You a Candidate for Lung Cancer Screening?

You may be eligible for a lung cancer screening if you meet the following new criteria recommended by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force: 
  • Current smoker or quit within the last 15 years
  • Age 50 to 80 
  • Have a 20 pack-year or more smoking history. A pack-year is a way of calculating how much a person has smoked in their lifetime. One pack-year is the equivalent of smoking an average of 20 cigarettes (1 pack) per day for a year.
